From the Desk of

Betty Booker-Parks , Principal

On behalf of the faculty and staff, it gives me great pleasure to WELCOME YOU to Riverview Middle School. We are extremely proud of our progress and the programs we offer our students. We are implementing the design of a college preparatory middle school. The administration and staff at Riverview believe investing in the future of our youth by exposing them to educational opportunities and life's possibilities is vital to their community's survival and prosperity.

Our intent is to help these children build dreams that will lead them to higher eduation and we need the entire community's assistance to do this. At Riverview Middle School, every child will be allowed to dream without boundaries. If the community provides us with the tools we need to help break down boundaries, we can help each student visualize and realize his or her own dream.

Riverview Middle School meets the unique needs of each student to become a productive citizen in our changing society. The learning experience encourages a successful transition from middle to high school by providing skills in oral and written communication, problem solving techniques, and computer skills. Computer literacy is essential in today's business world and is integrated into our total curriculum.

Riverview Middle School will implement the Blue Ribbon Plan, which offers a proactive approach to dealing with disicipline in regard to student behavior. Since children do better when parents/guardians and teachers join together to help students become effective citizens, we need all stakeholders to endorse a parent-community-teacher partnership.

I will publish a parent newsletter/calendar containing important dates and information once each six weeks. We will help students organize assignments and carry messages between home and school. We look forward to helping every child have a successful year.

In the best interest of our children,

Betty Booker-Parks , Principal
