Mission

The mission of Riverview will provide "good first teaching" instruction in a safe and caring environment, where all learners will be able to read and understand information, write clearly, solve math problems, and communicate effectively by the time they leave Riverview Middle School.

School Beliefs

Riverview Middle School believes that:

  • All students can learn and achieve academic success.
  • All students should acquire skills that meet social, physical, and emotional needs.
  • Effective use of multiple, creative teaching strategies can improve student learning.
  • Students should be actively engaged in the learning process and applying their knowledge to real-life situations.

All students deserve to have a safe, clean, nurturing, academically engaging learning environment.

Shared decision-making for all principals, teachers, parents, students and community members is necessary for an effective school environment.  All stakeholders share the responsibility for the

support, safety and education of students. Assessments should be varied and measure the

information presented to the student.  Positive teacher-student relationships and mutula respect

are necessary to enhance students' self-esteem.  District, State and Federal policies should be

followed by all Riverview Middle School stakeholders.

Vision

Riverview Middle School will meet the unique needs of each student to become a productive citizen in our changing society. The learning experience will encourage a successful transition from middle to high school by providing skills in oral and written communication along with problem solving techniques. Students will become motivated to pursue a lifetime commitment of learning and the world of work.
