WOE News Headlines

  • Attention Parents! Ms. Kerr, Library Specialist, would love to have lots of parent volunteers this year. The book fair is a great opportunity to be involved in your child's school activities. Please consider joining us in the library to help our students purchase their books. We are looking forward to seeing lots of new faces as well as greeting our loyal helpers!
  • The AttenDance has been rescheduled from Friday, 1/29, to Thursday, 1/28.
  • Awards Day has been rescheduled due to the snow day, to Friday, Jan. 29. The K-2 program is at 8:30 am, & 3-5 is at 9:30 am.
  • We have openings available in our Optional Program! We integrate enriched academics with arts and technology learning experiences to education the whole child. On Monday, January 25, bar-coded applications for all optional schools will be available for pick up beginning at 6:30 am at the Board of Education Auditorium,160 S. Hollywood St., and will continue January 26-January 28, from 7 am-5 pm.

  • Kelsey from Ms. Williams' fifth grade class came in first place for the 2015 Spelling Bee! Congratulations! Click here to see the video.
  • Students who came to school every day with no tardies, and no early check-outs, were awarded with an Award Dance. Click here to see the video.
  • Many students received awards during the 1st Quarter Awards Day. Click here to see the video.
  • We have started our Canned Food Drive! Please bring food items and help feed the hungry!
  • Our World's Finest Chocolate PTO Fundraiser was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who participated by selling and/or purchasing candy! The top sellers making up the Royal Court include: King - Maurice Cunningham, Queen - Phaith Harris, Prince - Ashton Grandberry, Princess - Kaitlyn Boden, Duke - Jayden Wilkes, and the Dutchesses (tie) - Abigail Coleman, and Madison Gardner. Prize winners include Roxye Mendez Velasquez - 5 pound chocolate bar, Destiny Matthews - bike, and Zion Wilder and Jayden Brown who won tablet computers! Click here to see the Video
  • Our beloved Mr. Atkins was honored during our 1st Annual Ronald Atkins Men Take Their Children to School Day which was held on October 8. Click here to see the video.   • Our grandparents were invited to Willow Oaks to have lunch with their grandchildren for Grandparents Day! See the video by clicking here.
  • Congratulations to Maria Ingram who placed in 3rd place at the Delta Fair for her art piece!

  • Our first PTO World's Finest Chocolate Fundraiser kicked off on Tuesday, September 8. Sell, sell, sell, for wonderful prizes including a tablet computer, bike, cash, and more!
