Announcement from Shelby County Schools:

My SCS Mobile App - Push Notifications

The District is now using the My SCS mobile app to send push notifications to people who have downloaded the app. Like text messages, push notifications are text-based messages that are sent directly to anyone who has downloaded the app on their mobile device. For example, we used the app to send out weather information. We will be rolling out the push notification capability to school users in the next couple of weeks as well, so parents will be able to follow WOE in the app and get alerts about news and events on their mobile devices. Parents, click the link here to download the app for free. In addition to getting push notifications notifications from the District, the My SCS app provides access to news, calendars, lunch menus, SCS social media and much more.

Texting Update: On Monday, November 24, SCS will be doing a second opt-in process for parents and employees to receive school and District text messages. There were some issues during the first opt-in process that prevented us from reaching all users. If parents have correct contact information on file, they will receive a text message on Monday asking them to opt in to receive messages.
