As Superintendent, I am honored to be a part of educating, nurturing, and inspiring our city’s children and giving them the foundation they need for a successful future.

As the Third Century Greek writer Diogenes Laertius wrote, “The foundation of every state is the education of its youth.” Nothing is more important to a civilization than the education of its children. At Memphis City Schools, we take that responsibility very seriously. Maintaining high expectations, placing a high value on academic achievement, continuing to ensure the safety and welfare of our children, and encouraging community and parental involvement are among the many ways that we are working hard at MCS to provide the quality education that our children deserve.

We are proud of our schools and of the care we take to ensure that quality teaching and learning takes place every day in every school.
