Memphis City Schools, the largest school district in Tennessee and 23rd largest district in the nation, is pleased to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website –www.mcsk12.net. The redesigned site, created by district’s Graphics & Web Services’ team – under the MCS Communications Department, – features a bright, consistent layout. The new design will provide site visitors a clean uncluttered layout and moving images highlighting featured content centered on district or school events.

“This site will be extremely user friendly and easier to navigate with the newly introduced Mega Menus and search engine. We have a new calendar function and RSS feeds that will allow users to subscribe to MCS news and events,” said Dawn Newberry, Graphics & Web Services Manager. “With an increased focus on innovation and technology growth in the district it was imperative that we develop a site that reflects our growth to the community, staff, students and teachers. This site is an example of the district expanding with trends of an ever changing digital society.”

Under development since fall 2011, the MCS website includes the following notable enhancements:

• Mega Menus to provide improved navigation and usability. The new menu structure will overcome difficulties associated with multi-level drop-down menus.
• An Improved search engine function.
• Site visitors can utilize RSS (Rich Site Summary) feeds to subscribe district news and events.
• New Social media integration. Parents and community members can connect with MCS on the district’s official Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Tumblr pages.
